It was 62 years ago today that the Louisville & Nashville Railroad merged the N.C. & St. L. fully into their system, bringing to an end an 80 year span of whole ownership while still allowing the NC to operate as a separate entity.
Here we see the 710 earlier today inside the shop while undergoing a 92 day inspection.
