On August 6th, 1949, photographer Richard J. Cook captured the 765 powering a 78-car train eastbound out of Bellevue, Ohio. At the time, the engine was just one of 80 Berkshire-type steam locomotives on the roster of the Nickel Plate Road and its celebrity status and restoration were 30 years away. #765at75
